Founded in 1901, W&H Peacock have been conducting weekly auction sales in and around Bedford for over a century. Our Newnham Street salerooms are among the largest in the country and sell anything from a tray of bedding plants to a Range Rover, JCB’s to Georgian chairs.
Bedford is unique amongst provincial towns in having a busy and thriving auction every Saturday. In fact it has four auctions all conducted simultaneously in a 30,000 square foot auction centre.

Absolutely terrible auctioneers. I sent Lps for their vinyl auction and a rare signed vinyl which cost me £680 over 15 years ago. I had no correspondence at all from the auction house. I even had to chase them up asking if my items arrived to be told yes there's a box here. The items only appeared on The Saleroom for 2 days which gave it no exposure at all. I then email asking what is happening I was told all lots have sold. (No one ever contacted me regarding reserves etc). Only to see the signed Lp sold at £95. Absolutely sickening. They said my account was set up as post only, I sent a letter with my items with my phone number and email. Never again will I use this company and I strongly advise anyone looking to sell to go elsewhere. **** Update. They said the item was displayed for 3 weeks in a cabinet. I have an email from them from the 1st October when I asked if my items arrived and they said yes your box is here unopened. So how is that displayed for 3 weeks when it's un
